Note

The Bruna Grimaldi 2019 Badarina is fragrant and compelling, opening with heady aromas recalling eucalyptus, rose, violet and exotic spice. Full-bodied and at the moment youthfully austere – a good thing for a young Barolo destined for long aging – the palate delivers ripe
Marasca cherry, cranberry, licorice and baking spice before a mineral finish. Firm but refined tannins provide seamless support while bright acidity keeps it well balanced. Drink 2027–2044. Abv: 14.5% Kerin O’Keefe February 2023

Note

This fragrant red opens with aromas of violet, fruitcake and dark spice. The full-bodied palate offers cherries soaked in spirits, raspberry compote and licorice framed in taut, close grained tannins. Made with grapes from different vineyards, this is the estate’s classic Barolo. It’s still rather tightly wound but will be accessible in just a few years. Drink 2026–2034.
